Lifemap is a tool for the interactive visualization of the Tree of Life. It allows the user to explore the entire tree in an interactive and zoomable way, similarly to how we view maps. It's the first tool to make the entire tree of life, and its interactions, interactive and easy to use.
The Tree of Life
Lifemap displays the entire tree of life in a graph, with the species at the top and the tips at the bottom. The user can zoom in and out, and move around the tree by dragging the map. It's the first interactive tree of life, so the user can click on any node or tip to get more information about that species.
Grouping
The user can also select any group of species to get more information about that group. For example, selecting the Animal kingdom will give you information about all the animals, while selecting the mammals will give you information about all the mammals. The user can also select the root of the tree to get information about all the species, or any species, or any group of species.
The Route
The user can also find information about the route between two species, or between two groups of species. For example, selecting the mouse and the elephant will give you the route between them.
